Play dough recipie



Playdough is a much loved resource at the club and what better way to enjoy it than making it with the children and letting them choose their favourite colour and scents to add to it. Once made if stored correctly it can lasts weeks at a time.



What you'll need:

  • A bowl

  • 2 cups of Plain flour

  • 2 table spoons of vegetable oil

  • 2 table spoons ofCream of tartar

  • 1/2 cup of table salt

  • 1 cup of hot water (boiled straight from the kettle)

  • A few drops of food colouring/flavouring (optional)



Add all of the dry ingredients and oil into the bowl. If adding food colouring add this to the cup of boiling water, then pour the water into the bowl and stir. It will become very thick, so after a while it is best to knead it together, make sure it is cool enough before allowing a child to touch it. Once cool knead for aorund 5 minutes. To preserve the life of the playdough keep it in an air tight container.
